shichi (七)
Japan inspired collaboration, 2017
Shichi is Japanese for seven (七) witch describes the seven-star shape of this collapsible stool. Inspired by the Japanese art of origami, the stool was made as a part of the celebration of Denmark and Japans 150 years celebration of trade relations and was exhibited in Kyoto, Japan.
The stool is made of one sheet, folded and sown together. The construction is dependent on the strength of the textile to keep it's shape, and is made of a lamination of laser-cut aeroplan x-finer and textile.
Designed in collaboration with Magdalena Jessen, textile designer, and Thomas Vogel, Architect.
